Agricultural Research Station and RAWEP students of DAATT Centre Karimnagar has Organised Rythu sadassu and Agricultural Exhibition on 17th December, 2021. The Collector and District Magistrate Sri. R.V. Karnan has addressed the conclave particularly students to learn practically from the farmers rather than confining to knowledge from the books. To his honour, he conveyed that how much a student may study in college is not more than a farmer who has gained the knowledge through his practical experiences. The Associate Director of research Dr. Uma Devi adviced the students to learn as much from the farmers as they gain huge knowledge from field experiences. The demonstration of Drone spraying has been shown in the red gram crop followed by demos on cotton shredder, mechanical seed planter, reversible 2 tyne mould board plough, single row seed planter, boom sprayer, fertilizer applicator and single cob sheller. The agricultural exhibition had display of promising varieties and hybrids released from PJTSAU, specialty corns exhibits and models consisting of crop diversification, integrated farming system, integrated pest management, guard crops types of mulches, vertical farming, aquaponics, hydroponics, trap crops, silage preparation, solar dryers, vertebrate pest management, monkey gun, trellis cultivation, drip and sprinkler irrigation working model. The programme was followed by awareness on topics of crop diversification by Dr. G. Manjulatha, Pests and disease management by Dr.A.Vijay Bhaskar, Soil Health Management by Dr. E.Rajinikanth, Activities of adopted village by Dr. G.Usharani, Hybrid seed production in maize by Dr.D.Sravani and Role of ICT Tools by Dr.K. Madan Mohan Reddy. The experiences of host farmers and students were shared and students performed cultural events song and rangoli and skit on crop diversification safety spraying measwes. As a part of village adoption programme, an exposure visit to Agricultural Research Station and the demonstrations to recent technological interventions have been shown to the adopted village farmers. The project on crop diversification where 12 crops grown in three different dates of sowing has grabbed the interests of the farmers in particular as it is the current issue of discussion for them. The Senior Scientist Dr. Venkateshwar Rao of KVK Jammikunta, DAO, Karimnagar Sri Sridhar, Principal representatives of AG college, Warangal and Jagtial, Dr.Kumara swamy and Dr. Sampath and stalls of private companies of Coromandel, Bayer, Corteva and BASF and around 200 farmers from the Rawep students villages and adopted village Perkapally of Saidapur mandal of ARS, Karimnagar and farmers from nearby neighbouring villages of different mandals participated and interacted with scientists.
