Conducted Awareness cum Demonstration of Drum Seeder Technology in Rice at Cheruvapally village by KVK,Kampasagar on 09-07-2020

Awareness programme cum demonstration in Cluster fields on Drum Seeder Technology in rice conducted by KVK, Kampasagar at Cheruvpally on 09.07.2020. Dr. M.A. Aariff Khan, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Kampasagar briefed about the importance of Direct Seeded Rice with drum seeder Technology. Dr.G. Satyanarayana Reddy, Secretary, KVK, Gaddipally briefed about direct sowing will reduce the cost of cultivation by avoiding nursery raising and transplanting. Row sowing facilitated for easy application of weed control, fertilizer application and, plant protection measures and. Dr.T.Bharath, SMS (Crop Production) explained about direct sowing with drum seeder will overcome labour shortage, cost of expenditure, drudgery and increases the yield (8-11%). A total of 20 Farmers were participated and felt happy and satisfaction as the device is easy to operate due to light weight and covering one acre area in 1 hour.
