Awareness programme on ‘Corona’ (Covid-19) virus on 06-03-2020 at CFST, Rudrur

An awareness programme on corona virus was conducted on 6th March, 2020 at 4:00 PM in College of Food Science & Technology, Rudrur. Dr. R. Swamy, Associate Dean, Mrs. Prashanthi, Asst. Professor (OSA, CFST), Mr. A. Dinesh, Assistant Professor (OSA, STP), Dr. Ashwini Chowdhary, other faculty members, Non-Teaching, Outsourcing staff and Students of Seed Technology Polytechnic and College of Food Science and Technology, Rudrur, participated in the programme. Dr. Ashwini Chowdhary was the resource person of this programme, who shared about the corona virus infection, symptoms, modes of transmission, treatment and preventive measures. She highlighted on the precautionary measures to prevent the infection. Dr. Swamy, Associate Dean, asked the students to follow the precautionary measures suggested by the doctor and asked to students to bring into the notice of the staff if they have any health issues. The associate dean also has given examples of the positive cases in the country and he highlighted most of the positive cases has travel history to other countries, and also encouraged the students to share the information with their family members, relatives and friends. Mrs. Prashanthi Meda, Assistant Professor (OSA), spoken about hygiene and diet. She asked the students not to take outside food and take vitamin C rich foods, which aids in boosting the immune system, and take plenty of fluids.
