Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kampasagar conducted one day awareness programme on "Energy Efficiency and Demand Side Management in Agricultural Sector" in collaboration with Telangana State Renewable Energy Development Corporation Ltd., (TSREDCO) at KVK, Kampasagar, Nalgonda District on 29.02.2020. Dr. M. Shankar, PC i/c, KVK, Kampasagar briefed about the programme and explained about the importance of energy saving in Agriculture sector to increase energy efficiency. After that, Programme Chief Guest E. Ramchandar Naik, District Raithu Samanvaya Samithi President, Nalgonda Dist., gave speech about improvement of mechanization in agriculture sector and what are the available new technology in energy sector to farmers for reducing the energy requirement and expenditure and also encouraged farmers to go towards Renewable Energy Sources like Solar Water Pumps and Solar fence. Later, Sri. Shridhar Reddy, District Agricultural Officer, Nalgonda explained about how farmers can reduce energy losses and emphasized on removal of Automatic starters and Assembled Pump sets with low energy efficiency and also suggested farmers to go for high star rated pump sets and use of solar pumps. Next, G. Shoban Babu, District Manager, T.S.R.E.D.C, Nalgonda, briefed about importance alternate energy sources in Agriculture like Solar Power and Wind power and what are the different schemes and subsidies available in energy sectors that helps farmers to tackle the existing lower efficiency energy problems in Agricultural sector and also explained about experimental based Solar On grid System which helps in developing current within the house and use it when required and saving the remaining current while low usage times. Dr. Sumalini, Vice Principal, Agriculture Polytechnic, Kampasagar, G. Narendar, Co-ordinator, DAATTC, Nalgonda, R. Vidya Sagar, H.O, Nakerekal, A. Mastanaiah, Scientist, KVK, Madhanapuram, T. Sudhakar Reddy, Senior Agronomist, Coramandal International Pvt. Ltd, Narayana Raju and Sri. Adavaiah Sarpanch, Tripuraram Nalgonda participated and provided their valuable suggestions and thoughts on saving energy in Agricultural Sector. The total number of farmers (420 No.) participated and interacted with the Resource Persons and Scientist regarding their doubts in Energy saving and increased efficiency of existing Pump sets. All Scientists of KVK, Dr. T. Bharath, T. Himabindu, A. Sai Kiran, G. Krishnaveni, J. Jeshwanthi participated in this programme. Finally farmers feedback was taken and programme was concluded with vote of thanks.
