Awareness Programme on Seed Production in Sesame, weather based agro advisory services for Paddy nursery management at adopted Village, Veldurthi by RARS, Polasa, Jagtial

Regional Agricultural Research station, Polasa, Jagtial conducted awareness programme on following topics at adopted Village, Veldurthi, Jagtial (M&D) by RARS, Polasa, Jagtial.

Activity Details:

• Smt. P. Sadvi, Scientist (Agril Extension) & incharge Village adoption has organized the programme.
• In this Programme Dr. D. Padmaja, Scientist (Plant breeding), created awareness on Sesame seed production and explained the management practices to be followed in cultivation of Sesamum i.e. seed treatment, application of organic manures etc. She also discussed about the seed production practices in Sesamum i.e. rouging, maintaining isolation distance etc.
• Later N. Navatha, Scientist (Agronomy) enlightened the farmers on weather based agro advisories to be followed for Paddy nursery management.
• She said that there is a chance of noticing Zinc and Iron deficiency in rabi Paddy nursery. For correction of Zinc deficiency recommended spraying of zinc sulphate 1-2 g/L and for correction of iron deficiency recommended spraying of 20g Iron sulphate (Annabedhi)+2 gms Citric acid (Nimma Uppu) per litre of water.
• After the programme, visited Paddy nursery and observed the condition of the nursery.
• In this programme, Praveen Goud, Sarpanch, adopted village and farmers (20 No.s) have  participated.
