Awareness Programme on Prevention of Sexual Harassment at work place prevention week at BJR Agricultural College, Sircilla was observed from 4 th to 9th Dec, 2023

With the call from Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India, Sexual Harassment at Work Place Prevention Week was observed from 4th to 9th December, 2023. As a part of this event, sensitization programme was conducted at BJR Agricultural College, Sircilla by displaying the information of Sexual Harassment Prevention Committee members on display boards at the college. The chairman of the Women sexual harassment committee, Dr. K. Kanaka Durga, Professor, Dept. of Genetics and Plant Breeding sensitized the students on the acts of sexual harassment and elucidated the punishments for the offenders. Further she also advocated to treat women with equal dignity and respect. NSS programme officers, Mrs. K.Bhavya Sree and Dr. T. Arunbabu emphasized the role of women in work places and ensured that any student or employee facing the problem can approach the committee immediately without any hesitation. All the NSS student volunteers, along with teaching, non-teaching and supporting staff participated in the programme.
