Awareness programme on Sexual harassment at workplace at RARS, Plaem on 15-12-2023

Regional Agricultural Research Station, Palem has conducted an awareness programme on the Sexual Harassment of Women (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) at Seminar hall, RARS, Palem at 3.00 PM on December 15, 2023 to sensitize the students and employees about the Sexual Harassment of Women provision Act. This programme was inaugurated by Dr. M. Malla Reddy (ADR, RARS, Palem) and enlighten the women staff and students to be wise, strong and cautious with surroundings and frauds. He also explained about hindrances in the growth and advancement of women (gender inequality) and cautioned students regarding sexual harassment. Sri. Ramu, Sub- Inspector of Police, Bijinapally (M), Nagarkurnool (D) attended the programme as a chief guest and created awareness among the audience regarding women empowerment, sexual harassment at work place and Cyber crime frauds. He also educated the audience about various sections related to sexual harassment and frauds under Sexual Harassment of Women provision Act. Dr. S. Vanisri, Principal Scientist (Oil seeds) encouraged the women staff and students to be first in all the aspects. She also narrated role of women in job and family responsibilities. Further she also told about women multi tasked nature. In this programme all the teaching & Non teaching staff of RARS, KVK , APT Palem and students participated.
