Awareness campaign on Community Kitchen Services for SAM Children” observed at Zilla Parishad High School, Gudur (Adopted village, CoA, PJTSAU), Kothur mandal, Rangareddy district, on 25-09-2021
To maintain the momentum and capitalize on the gains of the Jan Andolans of the past, the 4th Rashtriya Poshan Maah for September 2021 is planned. Accordingly in 4th Week under the theme - Identification of SAM children and Community kitchen service for them, “Awareness campaign on Community Kitchen Services for SAM Children” was organized on 25 September 2021 by the NSS wing at Zilla Parishad High School, Gudur village, Kothur mandal, Rangareddy district, the adopted village of College of Agriculture, PJTSAU, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad. The programme is graced by Dr. C. Narendra Reddy, Associate Dean, explained about need and importance of balanced diet intake and healthy dietary habit inculcation in school children as this is the target age group. Mrs. E. Jyothsna, Assistant professor, Foods and Nutrition Department (PGRC), College of Community Science, Saifabad, created awareness to grow the nutritional kitchen gardens to improve the nutritional status of school children, also explained the need for hygiene and sanitation in this COVID situation, millet inclusion in day to day life, importance of nutritional diet, rich in calcium, iron and zinc to maintain healthy lifestyle. The students and staff of ZPHS, Gudur village and NSS Programme officers have actively participated in the awareness campaign.
