Birth Anniversary Celebrations of Sri. Babu Jagjivan Ram at RARS, Warangal on 05-04-2023

Birth anniversary of Sri. Babu Jagjivan Ram was celebrated at RARS, Warangal on 05-04-2023. Dr. R. Uma Reddy, ADR, RARS, Warangal, Dr. B. Dilip Kumar, Coordinator DAATTC, Warangal, Dr. Ch. Ramulu, Dr. B. Satish Chandra, Dr. N. Sandgya Kishore, Dr. M. Madhu, Sri. B. Swamy, Smt. Shakunthala and non teaching staff, contract labour and farmers have participated in the Programme. Dr. R. Uma Reddy, Associate Director of Research, garlanded the photo of Babu Jagjivan Ram and paid floral tributes. The staff and farmers also paid homage to Babu Jagjivan Ram with flowers. On this occasion Dr. R. Uma Reddy, Associate Director of Research, in his speech stated that Babu Jagjivan Ram anniversary is remembered as his contribution to the Green Revolution in India and modernizing Indian agriculture, during his two tenures as Union Agriculture Minister are still remembered. He also holds another record for being the longest-serving cabinet minister in India (30 years. He was instrumental in the foundation of the All India Depressed Classes League, an organization dedicated to attaining equality for untouchables. Today, he is regarded as a Dalit icon who dedicated his life for the betterment of the untouchables. He also served as Union minister with various portfolios for more than forty years.
