Mentoring Workshop on “Cracking CSIR & UGC NET” was organized by Placement Cell at Virtual Classroom, College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar on 27.5.2023

A mentoring workshop on “Cracking CSIR & UGC NET” was organized by the Placement Cell, College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar on 27.5.2023 at 9.30 AM in the Virtual classroom. The workshop was led by Dr.K.Bhanu Rekha, Placement Incharge, and Dr.P.Rajinikanth, Additional Placement Incharge. The workshop started with welcome by Dr.K.Bhanu Rekha, Placement Incharge, College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar. It was followed by a welcome address by Dr.C.Narendra Reddy, Associate Dean, College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar. About 80 M.Sc and Ph.D students from the Departments of Agronomy, Plant Breeding, Seed Science and Technology, Entomology, Pathology, Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry, Agricultural Extension, Economics and MABM attended the programme. The workshop consisted of the presentations by the 2020 and 2021 CSIR & UGC NET candidates from the departments of Agronomy (Ms.Y.Chaitanya, Ph.D II Year), Plant Sciences- Genetics & Plant Breeding (Ms.Sonal, Ph.D III year), Entomology (Mr.SaiCharan, Ph.D II year) and Social Sciences- Agricultural Extension (Mr. Pavan Kumar, Ph.D II year). The presentations highlighted on crucial points viz; importance of CSIR and UGC NET for Ph.D pursuing students, correct time for PG students to write the exam, frequency and mode of conduct of exam, amount of scholarship, contingencies. They also emphasized on relevant subjects for different PG streams, syllabus, reference books, apps, websites, preparation schedule, tips to succeed in exam, total marks of exam, apart from examination pattern and cutoff marks for various social categories and for physically disabled persons. The presentations followed an interaction by the PG and Ph.D students regarding doubts on specific aspects on preparation. The Workshop ended with the vote of thanks proposed by Dr.K.Bhanu Rekha, Placement incharge, College of Agriculture Rajendranagar, Hyderabad.
