Celebration of 5th Rashtriya Poshan Maah” on the eve of Poshan Abhiyaan 2022 on 20.09.2022

College of Agriculture, NSS unit, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad conducted “Celebration of 5th Rashtriya Poshan Maa” as part of Jan Andolan on 20.09.2022 in Shivarampally village to create awareness to MPPS school children, Sivarampally, Rajendranagar, Rangareddy. POSHAN Abhiyaan is the Government of India’s flagship programme to improve nutritional outcomes for children, pregnant women and lactating mothers, and adolescents. The Abhiyaan is a multi-ministerial convergence mission with the vision to accelerate India’s progress on malnutrition, in a time bound manner with fixed target. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched PM’s Overarching Scheme for Holistic Nourishment or Poshan Abhiyaan 2022 aiming to make India malnutrition free by 2022. As a part of “Celebration of 5th Rashtriya Poshan Maa” the NSS unit, College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar scheduled a programme on “Health and Nutrition awareness for kids”. N.S.S programme Officers educating kids about good nutrition from an early age helps them to create and maintain a well-balanced, healthy life. Showcasing all the millets pictorial charts reflecting the nutritional values for easy understanding to children. This programme was graced by Smt. M. Shalini Head Master and 11 teachers along with NSS P.O’s Dr. D. Shivani, Dr. Vara prasad, Dr. A. Meena, Dr. Ch. Srilatha and Dr. P. Revathi. Around 150 MPPS school children out of 465 students participated in the programme. The school administration provided green leafy vegetable curry, banana, egg to school children as a part of mid day meals programme along with healthy lunch. NSS P.O’s guided the children about nutritional food, importance of sports and cleanliness.
