A webinar on “Impact of Climate Change on Productivity of food grain crops” has been organized on 20.08.2021 as a part of Platinum Jubilee Celebrations at College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar. Being the Platinum Jubilee year, events were being organized and conducted including faculty and alumni. Professor P. V. Vara Prasad, University Distinguished Professor, R.O Kruse Endowed Professor and Director, Sustainable Intensification Innovation Lab, Kansas State University, USA; President, Crop Science Society of America has been the distinguished speaker for the webinar. Director of Research, PJTSAU, Dr.R. Jagadeeshwar has been the chief guest for the programme. The programme was initiated by Dr. C. Narendra Reddy, Associate Dean, College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar by welcoming the alumni, faculty and the distinguished speaker. Introduction of speaker was given by Dr. M. Malla Reddy, Professor, Department of Agronomy, College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar. Speaker clearly elucidated how the climate has been changing from recent past years and the effect of climate change on food crops. He also explained the adverse effect of high temperature on plant metabolic activities, reproductive failures etc. Later Dr. M. Yakadri, Professor & Head, Department of Agronomy has facilitated the discussion between participants and the speaker clarifying several queries. Alumni from several batches and faculty have participated in the programme. The programme has been concluded by vote of thanks proposed by Dr.P. Sri Ranjitha, Assistant professor, Department of Agronomy, College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar. Around 97 members (faculty and students) participated in the Online webinar.
