CCSC-Dept of Foods and Nutrition-Orgnaized world Diabetes day on November 14th, 2022

The staff and students of department of Foods & Nutrition, College of Community Science, PJTSAU, organized the World Diabetes Day on November 14th 202. Chief guest Dr. Rakesh Sahay MBBS, DM-Endocrinology, MD-General Medicine, DNB-General Medicine Endocrinologist invited to deliver a lecture on “ Dealing the Diabetes from Doctors perspective” for the benefit of staff and students. The speaker reiterated about the importance of diet in management of diabetes. The cases of diabetes tremendously increasing due to the change in life style i.e., decreased physical activity, increased junk food consumption and low consumption of the fruits and vegetable are the leading causes. He also emphasized that early detection and proper controlling measures during early stages will enhance the life expectancy by 5-10 years. staff, UG, PG and PhD students of CCSC, Hyd and staff from BSNL office participated and were educated about the diet to be taken for the diabetes. One day diabetic diet was exhibited. The competitions like Cookery and Slogan writing were conducted and the winners were awarded. Dr D.Ratna Kumari, Associate Dean, Dr T.Sucharita Devi, University Head, Dr T.Supraja Department Head, Dr B. Anila Kumari, CEO, MPIC, Dr G Priya Sugandhi Asst professor and NSS coordinator, staff, and UG, PG and PhD students of CCSC attended the programme.
