Celebration of National Fish Farmers Day and Distribution of Fish Fingerlings to the Tribal Farmers under TSP on 10-07-2020 by KVK, Bellampalli

Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bellampalli, Mancherial District has celebrated “National Fish Farmers day” on 10.07.2020 which is celebrated in remembrance of the contribution of Dr. H.L Chaudhury and Dr. K.H Alikunhi. Keeping in this view, KVK, Bellampalli organized a training programme on “Awareness on Selection and quality of fish seed” on the eve of National Farmers Day to the 30 farmers of Mancherial and Kumrumbheem Asifabad districts. During this programme, Dr. M. Rajeshwar Naik, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Bellampalli has addressed the gathering on the Importance of fish and fish products in relation to human health, stages of fish seed and feeding habitat of fish. Besides, he also encouraged the farmers by spreading the awareness on Aquaculture and the benefits of it for doubling their income in Agriculture and allied sector. He explained about the schemes on fisheries sector like Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) which is launched by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri. Narendra Modi Garu, under this scheme, 55 lakh (5.5 million) jobs are expected to be created in the coming years as per the press release of the PMMSY portal. Accordingly, on the same day, under TSP component, KVK, Bellampalli has distributed 10000 numbers of fish fingerlings to the 08 numbers of Tribal farmers of L.Thanda, Somagudem of Kasipet Mandal (Agency of ITDA), Dugnepalli of Bellampalli Mandal and Manneguda of Nennel Mandal by Dr. M. Rajeswar. In this programme, KVK, Bellampalli staff, Dr. Shivakrishna Kota, SMS (Agricultural Extension), Sri A. Nagaraju, SMS (Plant Protection), Smt U. Sravanthi, SMS (Horticulture) and Sri R. Mahesh Kumar, RA (Fisheries), Sarpanches of respective villages and the beneficiary farmers were attended.
