World Health Day Celebrations at Agricultural College, Aswaraopet on 22-04-2022

The Agricultural college, Aswaraopet celebrated World Earth Day in a grand and befitting manner on 22.04.2022, Associate Dean in charge Dr. V. Venkanna, along with the faculty members went to the adopted village, Maddikonda. Awareness programme on “Regenerative agricultural practices and significance of soil” was conducted to the farmers of adopted village. Sri. Rahman, Forest Ranger Officer, Aswaraopet who was the chief guest of the day on this occasion emphasized about the theme of Earth Day, 2022 i.e. “Invest in our Planet”. He had spoken about the importance of forests, issues on plastic use, global warming, restore our planet Earth through addition of organic manures. Farmers, some of the faculty along with AELP students participated in this programme. Apart from Village Adoption Programme, World Earth Day was also celebrated at Agricultural College, Aswaraopet. Dr. M. Madhavi, Associate Dean, Ag. College, Aswaraopet enlightened the students and faculty about living sustainably and maintaining ecological balance without endangering the natural resource base for the future generations. Dr. V. Venkanna, Associate Professor, Dept. of Genetics and Plant Breeding said that Earth should be safe guarded by following good agricultural practices, integrated farming systems and provide pollution free environment for posterity. As part of this programme, Agricultural College, Aswaraopet conducted elocution, drawing& painting competitions to the students and distributed certificates to them. Village Adoption Committee in co-ordination with NSS Programme Officers organized the programme in a befitting manner. Other faculty members and students had actively participated in the smooth conduct of the programme.
