Save Soil” Campaign cum Awareness Programme by Agricultural Research Station, Agriculture Polytechnic and DAATTC, Tornala on 22-04-2022

A campaign cum awareness programme on Save Soil was jointly organized by Agricultural Research Station, Agriculture Polytechnic and DAATTC, Tornala duly involving farmers, RAWEP students of College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar and diploma students of APT, Tornala on 22-04-2022. On this programme, rally was taken for creating awareness on save soil by students along with teachers and scientists were involved. Later, Dr. S. Sridevi, Principal Scientist and Head, ARS, Tornala addressed the gathering on the soil degradation - ways and means to save soil. Dr. E. Srinivas, Professor (Agril. Extn), APT, Tornala delivered a talk on role of rural youth for protecting soil health. Dr. N. Sainath, Scientist (SSAC), ARS, Tornala discussed on the problematic soils and their management. Dr. D. Swetha, Scientist (Agronomy), ARS, Tornala explained about nutrient management for healthy soils and Sri A. Sathish, Assistant Professor (Agronomy) enlightened on the water management in relation to degradation of soil. Sri J. Vijay, Coordinator DAATTC reiterated the importance of soil health and Dr Pallavi, Scientist (TOT) discussed the soil pollution - causes, effects and solution. Later, students performed a skit with moto on save soil. At the end of the programme farmers, students, scientists and teachers took an oath to save soil. The programme was attended by 38 diploma students of APT, Tornala, 32 RAWEP students of College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar along with Sri Devayya, Sarpanch, Sri K. Nagesh Reddy, RSS President and also 25 progressive farmers.
