KVK, Palem organized world earth day on 22.04.2022

KVK, Agricultural college, RARS, Palem jointly organized world earth day on 22.04.2022 at Auditorium of RARS, Palem. In this program Dr. Pushavathi (Associate dean), Dr. M. Goverdhan, (ADR), Dr. T. Prabhakar Reddy (PC), Dr. Ramakrishna baabu (DAATTC, Palem), Sri. Ramadevi (DM-Ground water, NGKL), Sri. Venkanna (DAO, Representative) chaired the dais. The program was started with the university song and lightening of lamp. Dr. Pushavathi (Associate dean) stressed more on theme of world earth day i.e. “ Invest In our Planet'. Earth day celebrated to promote the awareness about the environmental protection including the critical issues of deforestation and climate change. Spoken about the reduce, reuse and recyclable plastic in day to day life. Dr. M. Goverdhan, (ADR), emphases on soil conservation practices to future generations. Cultivate the crops which will enhance the soil physical, chemical properties. Let us come forward to ensure sustainable development for ourselves and our future generations. After that Dr. T. Prabhakar Reddy (PC), presented on on “Global Warming & Climate Change impact on Agriculture”, Dr Kasthuri Rajamani (AGC, Palem) video played on save soil movement and presented students for soil program, Dr. O. Shaila, Scientist (Entomology),presented on on “Impact of Pesticides on Soil Health”, Dr D. Shashibhushan (AGC, palem), Presented on “Climate Resilient Crops for Sustainable Production”, Mrs. Ramadevi, (DM-Ground water, NGKL), “Ground water Status, Quality & Pollution risk at Nagarkurnool”. On this occasion felicitated two innovative farmers who are practicising the soil conservation practices i.e. Sri. Chandraiah (Organic farmer, Nandivademan), Sri. Madhusudan Reddy (IFS farmer from Nallavelly). Conducted quiz & elocution, distributed prizes to students of Agricultural College, Palem & farmers of Nagarkurnool district. In this program all the Scientists of KVK, RARS, DAATTC, AGC, Palem, 46 men & women farmers and 240 students of AGC, Palem have participated.
