Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Palem has been organized certificates distribution programme to organic farmers under Paramparagath Krishi Vikas Yogana (PKVY) for the year 2019-20 on 26.09.2020 (Saturday). Dr. T. Prabhakhar Reddy, Head of KVK, Palem has narrated importance of organic certification for selling the organic produce and the use of plant and animal based products in organic farming. The chief guest of the programme Dr. P. Raghurami Reddy, Associate Dean, AGC- Palem has advised the farmers to take up the organic farming as a passion to safeguard the natural resources like soil, water, air. The biodiversity can be sustained, ecology can be preserved through organic farming he said. Mr. M. Rajashekhar, (SMS-PP), in charge of the programme on organic farming has illustrated the importance and procedure of organic certification on the organic products, steps involved in group certification in organic farming and record maintenance. All the organic farmers shared their experiences on the ways and means of doing the organic farming and also expressed that if they get the support for marketing means they will bring the additional area under organic farming. PGS-India Organic certificates distributed to 20 farmers of the two cluster villages Nandivaddeman & Gudlanarva. In this programme all the staff of KVK, Palem and total of 20 farmers were participated in the programme.
