CONDUCTED VIRTUAL TOUR OF NDRI, KARNAL AT COLLEGE OF FOOD SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY, RUDRUR ON 07-02-2022

The College of Food Science and Technology, Rudrur conducted virtual tour of National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI), Karnal on 07.02.2022 at 3.00pm to 5.00pm to III year students of B. Tech (Food Technology) as part of course COCA-301 (Student READY-Industrial Tour). Dr. B.S. Meena, Principal Scientist, Dr. P. Narender Raju, Senior Scientist and Dr. P.S. Minz, Senior scientist were participated from NDRI, Karnal. This programme was started with welcome speech of Er. G. Rajender, Asst. Professor, Department of FDPE. Then, Dr. P. Narender Raju played their organization song and shown recorded videos of their institution. He well explained about administration of NDRI, offering courses, mode of admission, various equipments available in the departments and details of current running projects. During the visit, they have shown various laboratories and instruments available in the laboratory like khoa making machine, spray dryer, different packaging instruments, etc. They have also shown the high milk yielding breeds that they developed, which include Karan Swiss and Karan Fries. Few of ongoing research works in the institute were shown to us i.e. freshness indicator, development of plant extract incorporated functional foods, masala paneer, green milk, edible packaging material, iron fortified paneer using edible packaging etc. Later on students were interacted with the dignitaries of NDRI, Karnal. Dr. R. Swamy, Associate Dean, CFST Rudrur explained about college activities and asked future knowledge sharing sessions with NDRI. Finally, the programme was concluded with vote of thanks by Smt. M. Prashanthi, Asst. Professor, CFST, Rudrur. All teaching staff and student of II & III year B. Tech (Food Technology) were participated in this programme
