Cotton Research Scheme of RARS, Warangal conducted 'Awareness training programme on cotton cultivation and input distribution to the tribal farmers" under Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) 2023-24 at Chinna gunturpalli village of Mulugu mandal & District on 14.06.2024. In this training Dr. R. Uma Reddy, Associate Director of Research, RARS, Warangal explained about the programme and created awareness on important things to be done in cotton and redgram cultivation. Dr. V. Venkanna, Principal Scientist (Plant Breeding) explained about the paddy varieties suitable for kharif season. Dr. Y. Prashanth, Scientist (Plant breeding) interacted with farmers and explained about the High density planting system of cotton cultivation. Dr. S. Omprakash, Scientist (Entomology) created awareness on use of pheromones traps for pink bollworm management and sticky traps in sucking pests management in cotton. Dr. D. Ashwini, Scientist (Plant Pathology) spoken about disease management in cotton. Dr. Madhu, Scientist (Agronomy) explained about importance of pulses cultivation. In this programme Sri. Vijay Chander, DAO (Mulugu), Sripal ADA and special officer chinna gunturpalli, Sri. Santhosh, AO (Mulugu), Smt. Jyothi, Ayesha AEO's, FPO chairman Anji Reddy and 120 farmers from Devagiripatnam, Pattpalli and chinnagunturpalli were participated. In the part of programme a total of 100 tribal farmers (beneficiaries) were selected for distribution of inputs (Tarpaulin, neem oil, Sticky traps and pheromone traps and lures).
