KVK, Kampasagar has organized crop cutting experiment (CCE) in HDPS and CS cotton under special project on cotton. CCE was done in 5m X 5m (25 m2) area in both high density (90 X 15 cm) and closer spacing (90 X 30 cm) systems and recorded yield of lint at Nakrekal cluster. Plant population and yield was recorded in HDPS and CS system after marking the 5m X 5 m area, according recorded lint yield of 6.12 and 2.92 kg in HDPS and CS systems. The expected lint yield was 9.79 and 4.67 q/acre in HDPS and CS systems (second picking). Dr. S. Srinivasa Rao, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Kampasagar explained about the yield and time advantage with HDPS cotton. Dr. K. Chandra Shaker, SMS (CP) explained about the soil quality to be maintained in cotton fallow cropping systems. CCE was conducted at Aitipamula village of Nakrekal cluster.
