D.A.A.T.T. Centre, Karimnagar and RARS, Polasa jointly organized Awareness Programme on “Improved Variety (Jagtial Til-1) in Sesame” and “Crop Diversification-Cultivation of Sesame under alternative conditions” under Scheduled Cast Sub Plan on 24-08-2022 at Rythuvedika, Boinapalli mandal of Rajanna Sircilla District. Dr. K. Madan Mohan Reddy, Scientist (TOT) & Coordinator welcomed all the dignitaries on to the dais and explained the main purpose of this program to the farmers and suggested all the farmers to focus on crop diversification. Then Dr. Padmaja, Scientist (Pl.Br.), RARS, Polasa has explained about the Scheduled Cast Sub Plan, new varieties in sesame and their characteristics. Later Dr. P. Madhukar Rao explained about soil conservation and cultivation of sesame crop in organic method and management of fertilizers in cotton, maize and paddy crops in present conditions. Then Dr. M. Rajendraprasad, Scientist (Crop Protection) informed the farmers to follow the precautionary measures for effective management of pest and diseases in major crops. Later distributed the tarpaulins to the beneficiary farmers. Later scientist along with Department of Agriculture officials visited the Cotton fields of farmers and given suggestions as per the university recommendations. In this programme MPP-Sri. Parlapalli Venugopal, ZPTC-Smt. Uma Kondaiah, Rythubandhu Samithi Mandal Coordinator-Sri. Konkati Lachireddy, Vice MPP-Sri. Nagaiah, AMC chairman- Sri. Satyanarayana, AMC vice chairman- Sudhakar Rao, MPTC – Smt. Samba Buchamma, Sri. Mallareddy, Sri. Upender, Sarpanch, Boinpalli–Smt. Gunti Latha Shankar, Sarpanch, Ramannapeta-Sri. Kannam Madhu, Rythubandu Samithi Village Coordinator- Sri. Lachaiah, Sri. Babu, Mandal Agricultural Officer – Smt. Praneetha and 05 RAWEP students and around 55 farmers participated in the programme.
