Celebrated the World Water Day on 22.03.2021 at Vittoli village of Mudhole mandal, Nirmal district. On the occasion of world water day, 2021 Created awareness among the farmers community about the importance of water, value of water is much more than price and it was most important costly input which is very essential for the production of crops by the DAATT-C,Mudhole. Dr.G.Veeranna, Coordinator and Head, ARS& DAATT-C Mudhole addressed to the gathering and reiterated that farmers play key role in taking the water saving technology, he explained about the utilization of water resources, quality of irrigation water and criteria’s and their limits, basic principles in irrigation and water requirements of different crops and preventing water losses. Misuse of water leads to the problems of water logging, salt in balance etc., thus rendering agriculture land unproductive, hence economic utilization of water resources for maximum crop production. Dr.M.Sampath Kumar, Scientist (ToT) Asked about the constraints related to irrigations and suggest farmers to cultivate less water requirement and remunerative oil seed crops like safflower and sesamum. Dr.K.Vijay kumar,Scientist (Pl.Br.) spoken on different methods of water saving and suggested short duration varieties/hybrids in ID crops.
