DAATTC, Tornala organized Field Day on “Popularization of redgram variety- WRG-255” at Mundrai (V) on 20-12-2023

A field day on “Popularization of a medium duration redgram variety - WRG-255” was organized by DAATTC, Tornala at Mundrai (V), Nangnoor (M), Siddipet (Dt) on 20.12.2023. Dr. N. Sandhya kishore, Scientist (Plant breeding), informed that newly released red gram varieties from RARS, Warangal, PJTSAU i.e., mid early duration (WRGE-121, WRGE-97, WRGE-93) and medium (WRG-255) and their characters. Later Dr. M. Madhu, Scientist (Agronomy) explained about the agronomic management practices to be followed to get the higher yields in redgram. Dr. D. Veeranna, Scientist (Entomology), briefed about pest management of maruca, helicoverpa, podfly in pigeonpea. Dr. Ch. Pallavi, Scientist, DAATTC, Tornala explained about difference between Redgram and Paddy crops economically and importance of pulses on soil health management. Later FLD farmer, Sri. N. Karunakar Reddy has shared his experience with the fellow farmers on the practices followed by him and timely management in red gram variety (WRG-255). Later, mid early duration (160-165 days) redgram minikit WRGE-182 vs check WRGE-97 was also observed in Sri M. Rajaiah field by the Scientists of RARS, Warangal & DAATTC, Tornala. In this programme, 40 farmers from Mundrai, AEO- Ashok have participated in the meeting.
