Field day cum Awareness programme on "Pulses-Importances, Management and Seed Production

On the occasion of World Pulse Day, a field day cum Awareness programme on “Pulses-Importance, Management and Seed production” was organised by Mr. J. Vijay, Scientist (TOT), Mrs. Ch. Pallavi, Co-ordinator, DAATTC, Tornala at Munigadapa village, Jagadevpur mandal, Siddipet District on 10-02-2021. Sri. V. Sudhakar Reddy, ZPTC, Siddipet, Sarpanch Balalaxmi and Agriculture departmental officials Sri. S. Anil Kumar, ADA (Mulugu), Sri. Srinivasa Rao, MAO (Jagdevpur) and 40 farmers have attended the programme. Mr. J. Vijay explained about best management practices to be followed in pulses and discussed pulses role in soil fertility improvement and thereby growing pulses may increase gross income from very less investment rather than commercial crops. Mrs. Ch. Pallavi gave brief note on importance of pulses and consumption pattern of pulses in the country and Telangana State. Mrs. A. Saritha discussed in detail about the seed production of redgram, green gram and bengal gram. Later, farmers were taken to bengal gram field where in the queries raised by farmers on redgram, bengal gram and paddy crop, were answered by the scientists. At last, Sri. V. Sudhakar Reddy garu, ZPTC, Siddipet, thanked the organisers for conducting the awareness programme on pulses.
