DAATTC, Tornala -Rythu Sadassu cum agriculture exhibition conducted at Chinnakodur village on 13.04.2023

As per the instructions of University, the RAWEP-2022-23 batch students studying final year B.Sc (Ag), College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad attached to DAATTC, Tornala, Siddipet district. As a part of RAWE Programme students conducted Rythu Sadassu cum Agricultural Exhibition at Chinnakodur (V&M), Siddipet District in collaboration with DAATTC, Tornala on 13.04.2023. ZP chairperson Roja Radha Krishna Sharma inaugurated the Exhibition stall and visited the models prepared by the students and appreciated their efforts. Students displayed and explained the concepts, themes in brief along with model and supporting display chart. The students arranged about 7 stalls as a part of the Agriculture exhibition which includes 14 models on Vertebrate pest management, drone spraying, IPM in cotton, IPM in Paddy, Kitchen gardening, different composing methods, green house and polyhouse models, HDPS cotton system, Integrated farming system, raising of green manure and green leafy manures, soil sampling method, problematic soils and their amelioration, Organic farming, Oil palm cultivation, Sericulture, Apiculture, Precautions in pesticide spraying. Around 120 numbers of farmers from different villages have utilized the opportunity and visited the exhibition models. After the exhibition, Sri. J. Vijay, Coordinator welcomed the guests on to the Dais and programme started by lightening of lamp followed by University Song. Later he explained about the paddy stem borer and management. Dr. S. Sridevi, Principal Scientist & Head explained about the varieties released from PJTSAU and encouraged farmers to take up the seed production in paddy and greengram. Dr. Ch. Sreelatha, AD representative, CA, Rajendranagar explained about the aim and importance of RAWEP and brief activities done by RAWEP students to the dignitaries and farmers. Students from different villages shared their experience about the RAWEP and few host farmers expressed that the programme is very helpful to the villages also as this increases the practical knowledge and continuous field visits. Further, Dr. Ch. Pallavi explained about the summer ploughing and its importance. Later, ZP chairperson Roja Radha Krishna Sharma thanked DAATTC & ARS Tornala to select their village for RAWEP students activities and organize the meeting in their village for the benefit of the villagers. In the programme, Chinnakodur FPO Chairman Abhi Reddy, Jayanth, Chinnakodur MAO, PACS Chairman Kanaka Raju, Sarpanch Umesh Chandra, AEOs Jameel, Jhansi, Geetha, Praveen, Pavan, Prashanth, Shiva, Laxmi, Sushmitha, Gouthami were also present in the programme.
