Demonstration on Growing of Rice Nursery on Polythene Sheet and Machine Transplanting by KVK,Malayalam on 08-01-2021

KVK Malyal has organized demonstration on growing of rice nursery on polythene sheet and machine transplanting in the KVK farm. Dr. S. Malathi, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Malyal addressed and apprised the farmers about tips for nursery growing on polythene sheet for machine transplanting. She pointed out that in view of growing acreage of paddy and consequent increase of labor shortage resulting in late or untimely paddy transplanting, scope for adoption of machine transplanting is huge. And young farmers and rural youth should take this as an opportunity for taking up self entrepreneurship of mechanization on custom hiring basis.Sri B. Kranthi, SMS (Crop Production) demonstrated nursery raising method on polythene sheet at the farm. In this programme, KVK Scientists Dr. N. Kishore Kumar SMS (Extension), Dr. E. Rambabu, SMS (Horticulture), Smt. A. Ramulamma, SMS (Plant Protection), Smt. D. Usha Sri, SMS (Agromet), Sri Bhaskar, Scientist from HRS Malyal, Sri Thirupathi Reddy, MAO, Mahabubabad, Sri Veera Singh, MAO, Maripeda, around 80 farmers from the district, RAWEP students of KVK Malyal participated in the programme. The demonstration program was organized in collaboration with M/s Mahindra & Mahindra Company.
