Regional Agricultural Research Station (RARS), Warangal organized Demonstration cum training on drum seeding in paddyto the tribal beneficiaries(Ankannagudem and Jaggannagudem villages of Mulugumandal and district) at RARS, Warangal under Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) 2019-20 sponsored by ICAR-Indian Institute of Rice Research (ICAR-IIRR), Hyderabad on 04-02-2021.The meeting was chaired by Dr.R.Uma Reddy, Associate Director of Research, RARS, Warangal and explained the importance of direct seeding in paddy to the farmers. He also stressed that drum seeding technology would reduce labour cost, time and water resources in rice and opined it is a one of the climate resilient technology in rice for increasing yields. Dr.U.Nagabhushanam, Sr. Scientist (Agron.) explained complete drum seeding technology in rice. Dr.B.Satish Chandra, Scientist & Principal Investigator (TSP) explained about objectives and implementation of project at tribal villages.Dr.B.Anil Kumar Senior Scientist (Ento.), DAATTC, Warangal explained the reasons for the increasing area under drum seeding. He stated that labour cost and increased cost of cultivation forced the farmers to divert to the alternate methods of paddy cultivation. Demonstration on drum seeding was shown to tribal and progressive framers in the field. During field demonstration, several queries posed by farmers were clarified by scientists. Later, in training programme some of the progressive farmers who have been practising this technology for the past several yearswere shared their experiences and they were felicitated on this occasion viz.,V.AnnaRao, Dandepally, Elkathurthimandal, Sri Muralidhar, Gopalpur, Elkathurthimnadal and Sri TipparapuRaju, Elukurthi, Geesukondamandal.Dr.K.Rajendra Prasad, Scientist (Pl.Br.), Dr.Ch.Ramulu, Dr.Y.Hari, Smt.B.Madhavi andSmt.D.Ashwini Scientists of RARS, Warangal participated in this programme.
