Diagnostic field visit to Fisheries Society fish pond at Shettipalem Village by Scientists of KVK, Kampasagar on 09-09-2020

Diagnostic field visit to Fisheries Society fish pond (100 acres area) by J. Jeshwanthi, Senior Research fellow, Fisheries , KVK, kampasagar and Dr. Lava Kumar, SMS (Fisheries), KVK, Gaddipally jointly at Shettipalem(V), Vemulapalli (M), Nalgonda (Dist) on 09.09.2020. Different Fishes like Catla, Rohu, Mrigal, Grass Carp. Common Carp culturing in society pond. Among all the fishes Mrigal fishes were dying and mortality noticed daily. The group of fish scientists observed the reasons for mortality of grown up fishes due to inflow of muddy water. Suggested to apply Bleaching powder ( 1kg/Acre) to fish pond. To improve quality of water and furthur advised to stop the inflow of muddy water from upper fields and remove the dead fishes immediately from pond. Water samples from fish pond was collected to check for other quality parameters.
