Heavy rains over the week resulted in localized ponding and submergence of crops like cotton, rice, redgram etc., across different mandals of the Nagarkurnool district. The district has received 200 mm of rainfall from August 1st to 16th, 2020. A diagnostic field visit conducted by staff of KVK, Palem on 17.08.2020 to khanapur & Nandivaddeman villages of Bijinepally mandal. Observed water logged conditions in Cotton, Sorghum and redgram crops. Suggested to drain out excess water from the fields of rainfed crops after that recommended drenching with COC 30g+ Streptomycin 2g in 10litres of water, followed by foliar spray with 13-0-45 @ 5g/litre of water. In view of available soil moisture, recommended for top dressing of Urea @ 25 kg per acre and MOP @ 10 kg per acre. Recommended spraying of Monocrotophos @ 1.6 ml or Acephate @ 1.5 g to control the incidence of Aphids in redgram.
