Distribution of Paddy Seed and Bio-Fertilizers to the Tribal Farmers under Tribal Sub Plan (TSP)

Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bellampalli, Mancherial organised Krishi Kalyan Abhiyan-III programme, importance of farm bill and distributed yasangi paddy seed (KNM 118) along with bio-fertilizers to the tribal farmers under Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) for the year 2020-21 at Sandgaon village, Kautala Mandal of Kumrumbheem Asifabad (Aspirational District) on 4th December, 2020. The main objective of the programme is to provide the high yielding paddy seed (KNM-118), improves the soil fertility and to create awareness on farm bill. Dr. M.Rajeshwar Naik, Senior Scientist & Head (Programme Coordinator), KVK, Bellampalli addressed the farmers and farm women on the importance of selection of quality seed, usage of bio-fertilizers/organic inputs which enhances the soil fertility as well as increases the availability of nutrients, cost effective, eco-friendly and also explained the adverse effects of indiscriminate usage of chemical fertilizers and pesticides etc. Further, he addressed the farmers on importance of intercropping and crop rotation in enhancement of soil health. In addition to this also educated the farmers about farm bill. Later 30 no. of tribal farmers were benefitted by providing paddy seed and Bio-fertilizers. In this program KVK scientists, Dr. Shivakrishna Kota, SMS (Agricultural Extension) and Dr. Bollaveni Sathish Kumar, SMS (Agrometeorology), Sri. Ravinder, District Agriculture Officer, KB Asifabad, Sri. Rajesh, Mandal Agriculture Officer, Koutala, Smt. Srikanya, Sri. Anjanna, A.E.Os., Sri. Vishwanath, Mandal Praja Parishad President, Koutala, Sri. Venkateshwar Rao, Irrigation Supply Board President, Sri. Damodhar, Sarpanch and 80 No. of farmers were attended.
