Krishi Vigyan Kendra Bellampalli in collaboration with Integrated Tribal Development Agency Utnoor Adilabad under the project titled as Empowerment of remotely located rural farmers of Mancherial and KB Asifabad districts through promotion and adoption of high yielding varieties. PVTG farmers (Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group) are very poor and their income levels are very low. They were depending on farming and livestock rearing for food and livelihood security. Seed is basic component for agricultural production. Keeping this in view, quality high yielding seed of their locally cultivated and adopted variety will be distributed. There by with good management practices yield per acre increases and intern the income of the farmers. Therefore, under this project, during the kharif season 2023, PVTG farmers (kolams and thoty) were distributed with high yielding quality Redgram seed (WRGe 97) in the on campus seed distribution programmes organised at KVK training hall from 5th to 7th July 2023 and organised the off campus distribution programmes on 7th July 2023 at Rottepalli Gram Panchayat. Redgram seed was distributed to the kolam farmers of the following villages namely Pangidi, Buggaguda, Chopidi, Moindagudipeta, Kottathirumalapur, Pathathirumalapur, Bagvanthguda, Govarguda and covered an acreage of 124 acres.
