EEI, Hyderabad organized online training on Promotion of Farmer Producer Organization for the Officers of Horticulture Sector from 28th to 31st March, 2022

Extension Education Institute, Hyderabad to organized a 4 days online off campus training programme on “Promotion of Farmer Producer Organisation for the Officers of Horticulture Sector” to enhance the importance of farmer producer organizations among the participating officers from 28th - 31stMarch, 2022 coordinated by Dr.I.Sreenivasa Rao, Senior Professor and Dr. D. Shireesha, Assistant Professor, EEI. The programme orientated the participants on various aspects related to FPOs for Profitability – An Overview, Challenges and Strategies for Sustainability of FPOs, Development of Business Plans for FPOs and Supply Chain and Value Chain Development for FPOs, Role of Govt. and Non Govt. Organizations in Promotion of FPOs, Promotion of Horticulture Entrepreneurship for FPOs, Role of Financial Institutions for Promotion of FPOs, Modalities of Successful FPO Models in Horticulture, Using information Technology and Digitilization in FPOs for Profitable Farming and Legal Frameworks and Statutories of FPOs. Twenty Horticulture Extension officials Tamilnadu, attended the programme. Dr. M. Jagan Mohan Reddy, Director, EEI, Hyderabad stressed the need to encourage FPOs in taking up enterprises and value addition units in supply and value chain in production, processing and marketing of horticultural products to gain remunerative price. Dr. I. Sreenivasa Rao, Senior Professor, EEI and University Head chaired the valedictory session and in his valedictory address emphasized the need to empower the development officers of horticulture on farmer producer organisation for marketing in this pandemic era, where an attempt had been made by EEI. And congratulated the participants for successful completion of course and opined that every officer attending this training should seriously think of the application of the learnt knowledge of the training programme at their work place by training the farmers and making them master trainers and intern suggested to work hard to succeed and bring laurels to Govt of India. All the officers in their feedback mentioned that it is a wonderful opportunity of connecting directly to the eminent nationwide speakers who are experts in their concerned fields and who have shared their valuable experiences in this online training program.
