EEI, Hyderabad organized a training programme on ‘Women empowerment towards sustainable development goals in agri & allied sectors” from 30 th May to 3rd June, 2023.

Extension Education Institute, Hyderabad had organized an On campus training programme on ‘Women empowerment towards sustainable development goals in agri & allied sectors’ from 30th May to 3rd June, 2023. Thirty five (35) participants from Telangana, Tamilnadu, Odisha, Karnataka, Kerala & Lakshadweep Islands belonging to Agriculture, Agril. Marketing, Agril. Engineering, Fisheries, Sericulture and Dairy Development sectors participated in the programme. The programme focused on sustainable development goals and related women empowerment, gender equality through entrepreneurship, impact of climate change on women, gender budgeting, poverty alleviation strategies, optimum use of celestial ecosystems, oceans and forests, journey towards peaceful and just-full societies, GoI schemes and policies, food safety and WASH interventions and women empowerment though nutri sensitive agriculture. Exposure visits to KRITI NGO enabled the participants to understand the dynamics of women empowerment though vocational training courses, and to National Institute of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises showcased different avenues for development of entrepreneurship among women. Apart from the above inputs, the participants were put through ‘cross learning’ sessions in groups, where they brain stormed among themselves and came up with sector specific strategies towards women empowerment in relation to sustainable development goals. The programme was inaugurated by Dr.M.Jagan Mohan Reddy, Director, EEI, Hyderabad on 30th May, 2023 and was coordinated by Dr.M.Preethi, Professor, EEI, Hyderabad.
