Digital literacy is literacy via technology. This adds to the complexity since technology is continuously changing the environment we live in. Hence, EEI, Hyderabad conducted a five-day training programme from 22nd – 26th February, 2022 to build digital competencies of extension professionals. These encompass six C’s of 21st century – collaboration, communication, critical thinking, creativity, citizenship and character education. To cater to these needs the curriculum was designed under the guidance of Director, EEI, Hyderabad Dr. M. Jagan Mohan Reddy. In his inaugural address The Director EEI, Hyderabad Dr. M. Jagan Mohan Reddy reiterated that literacy is ‘reading the word and world’ in this era of digital transformation. The extension professionals were inspired to make effective and efficient use of digital technology for meaningful impact and outreach. The wide array of the topics covered were crop health diagnostics using drones, precision agriculture through digitalization, IOT based extension and market strategies, use of social media in agriculture, ICT initiatives by KVK, Baramati, application of GIS in agriculture, mobile apps of GoI in agriculture, digital initiatives in agriculture and allied sectors in supply chain management, digital leadership and hands on experience in video script writing and film making through mobiles. The esteemed renowned PAN India speakers held the technical deliberations coordinated by Dr. A. Sailaja, Professor, EEI, Hyderabad. In his valedictory address the Director, EEI, Hyderabad Dr. M. Jagan Mohan Reddy appreciated the efforts of participants in their active participation in the programme through preparation of videos. The Director also requested the participants to post their back home trials and experiences on completion of this training programme. The trainees provided their reflections on topics covered their way forward with the knowledge gained.
