EEI, Hyderabad Organised Webinar on PRACTICING EXTENSION on 28-02-2022

Society of Extension Professionals (SEP) was founded on 12th July 2012 with a registration number of 1630 with a mission to advance the cause of extension education and also to facilitate closer association amongst members and other extension personnel working in all Indian states and abroad. As a part of the regular activities of SEP, it was proposed to organise series of webinars for the benefit of members. 1st Webinar on Emerging approaches and trends in Extension research: A social change perspective was conducted on 28/01/2022 in which Dr. P. Sethuraman Sivakumar, Principal scientist, CTCRI, Kerala addressed the august gathering from 2 to 4pm. 2nd webinar was organised on 28-02-2022 from 4 to 5.30pm through CISCO WEBEX Platform in which Dr. P. Chandrashekara, Director General, MANAGE shared his experiences on “Practicing Extension”. Dr. V. Sudharani, President, SEP and Director of Extension, PJTSAU and Dr. I. Sreenivasarao, Treasurer, SEP and University Head and Sr Professor participated in the programme. Dr P. ChandraShekara shared his rich experiences while working in Academic leadership role for Innovation programmes namely: PPP in Agricultural Extension Management i.e. Hoshangabad model, Agriclinics and Agri business center Scheme, DAESI Programme and Feed the future programme of USAID India. He said that it is the need of the hour to focus on Nutri Sensitive Agriculture for attaining Nutritional security in rural and urban areas. He reiterated that keeping the farmers interest in view it is imperative for all Extension professionals to work with private sector in an integrated mode. Participants interacted with the speaker very actively through out the webinar and got clarifications. Sixty seven extension professionals took part in the webinar actively. Webinar was organised under the guidance of Dr. M. JaganMohanReddy, General Secretary and Director, EEI, moderated by Dr. R. Vasantha, member, SEP and Professor, EEI, Hyderabad. The Programme ended with formal vote of thanks proposed by Dr. K. Madhubabu, Joint Secretary, SEP and Professor and Head, Dept of Agricultural Extension, College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad.
