Training Programme on Promotion of Nutrition Management in Livestock and Dairy Sectors organized at EEI, Hyderabad

Extension Education Institute, Hyderabad has organized a 5 days online training programme on “Promotion of Nutrition Management in Livestock and Dairy Sectors” to enhance the awareness about different innovations brought in the nutrition management in livestock and dairy, among the participating officers from 8th -12th November, 2021. The programme orientated the participants on various aspects related to Promotion of nutrition management in Livestock and Dairy Sector: An Overview, Scientific feeding management for profitable dairy farming, Scientific feeding practices for Calves, Heifers, Lactating and Pregnant Mother, Feeding strategies to address Low Fat and SNF Problem, Importance of Minerals in Livestock, Bypass Protein and Fat supplementation in Dairy, Promoting High Yielding varieties of fodder to meet Nutritional Security, Low Cost feed formulation, Balanced ration diet preparation, Season based feeding Practices to maintain Productivity in dairy animals, Managing fodder shortages, Hydroponic fodder and silage, Precision dairy farming and Feeding strategies for ameliorating negative energy balance in postpartum Cows. Dr.M.Jagan Mohan Reddy Director, EEI, in his valedictory address on 12th November emphasized the need to empower the development officers of Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development departments on nutrition management in livestock and dairy sectors, where an attempt had been made by EEI. And congratulated the participants for successful completion of course and opined that every officer attending this training should seriously think of translating these nutrition management practices in their back home situation. All the officers in their feedback mentioned that it is an opportunity of connecting directly to the eminent nationwide speakers who are experts in their concerned fields and who have shared their valuable experiences in this online training program. Majority of the participants felt happy to get oriented on latest information on the current areas of nutrition management in Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development sector and understood the Scientific feeding management, feeding strategies, bypass protein and fat supplementation, low cost feed formulation, balanced ration diet preparation and precision dairy farming. Dr. P. Vijaya Laksmi, Professor and Dr. D. Shireesha, Assistant Professor, EEI, Hyderabad coordinated the programme.
