An exposure visit on 12.02.2021 to 23 farmers of Siddipet districts covering villages of Peddalingareddypally, Irkode, Vittalapur, Venkatapur, Ibrahimpur and Gurralagondi was organized by DAATT Centre, Tornala in collaboration with S&T SIRI NGO under FSFP- Project on multilayer vegetable cultivation for doubling of income funded by NABARD. Horticulture departmental officials Sri. Bhasker, ADH and Mr. Ashish, HO have explained in detail about the Center of Excellence, Mulugu saying that it was established in an area of 53.25 acres. During the visit, farmers were exposed to the technologies like naturally ventilated net house, plug type nursery unit, interventions of technology, different spacings, plastic mulching, micro irrigation fertigation, semi shadenet pandal and farm ponds (4) with capacity 50 lakh liters. Fruit tree plantation (i.e., Mango, Guava, Citrus) was done in an area of 26.16 acres duly procuring plant material from various prestigious institutes of India and local farmers were done on ultra high density model. Different varieties of mango (Ratna, Baneshan, Kesar, Royal special, Himayath, Totapuri, Dasheri-35, Alphonso, Sindhu, Amrapali, Suvarna Rekha), Guava (Lucknow-49, Allahabad safeda, Taiwan guava) and Custard apple (Balanagar) sandal wood (primary host- Alternanthera, redgram and secondary host plant- Casuarina), tissue cultured banana (Grand-9), dragon fruit (Red-Pink purple, Blood mary and White-Harpua), Sweet orange (Brazilian orange, Rangapur Lime, Nagpur Mandarin) were shown and different methods of grafting, layering, budding were demonstrated to the farmers. During the visit, Mr. J. Vijay and Smt. Ch. Pallavi from DAATTC, Tornala and Srikanth from SIRI NGO have accompanied the farmers.
