Organized an Exposure Visit to Students of Telangana Model School, Akkenapally, Nangunoor (Mdl), Siddipet on 04.03.2025 by APT and ARS Tornala.

APT and ARS Tornala has organized an exposure visit to the students of Telangana Model School, Akkenapally, Nangunoor, Siddipet on 04.03.2025 with an objective to give an insight into the research, teaching and extension working together for the benefit of farming community. At the outset, Dr. S. Sridevi, Principal, Tornala has welcomed the students and gave a brief note about APT and ARS Tornala followed by the mandate (Teaching, Research and Extension) of the all three institutes (APT, ARS & DAATTC) in Tornala with an overview of soil, water conservation technologies, different crops & experiments. Later, A. Sathish, Asst. Prof. (Agro.), APT, Tornala and Dr. D. Swetha, Scientist (Agro.), ARS, Tornala has explained the intercropping in mango orchard and importance of meteorological aspects in relation to the crop growth and development and how to measure the weather parameters with help of meteorological observatory. Further, Sri. L. Raja, Asst. Prof. (Agro.), APT, Tornala explained importance of Mechanization in Agriculture and role of extension in transfer of technology. Dr. A. Rama Devi, Scientist (Ento) and Ms. Nikitha, TA (Entomology), APT, Tornala gave an overview about the crop protection laboratory of APT, important pest and diseases of major crops and their management strategies, Breeding scientists Dr. E. Uma Rani and Smt. A. Saritha explained about the breeding aspects in sunflower crop. 15 teachers, 120 students of Telangana Model School, Akkenapally have participated in the programme.
