A free eye check-up camp was organized by NSS Unit of Agricultural College, Warangal on 06.03.2025 to the students, Teaching & Non Teaching staff.

A free eye check-up camp was successfully organized by the NSS Unit of Agricultural College, Warangal, in coordination with Sharath Max Vision Eye Hospital on 06th March, 2025. The primary objective of the camp was to provide comprehensive eye examinations and promote eye health awareness among students, teaching staff and non-teaching staff. The camp was inaugurated by Dr. A. Venkat Reddy, Associate Dean, Agricultural College, Warangal who also availed himself of the eye check-up facility and interacted with students and medical staff. His presence and engagement with the participants added encouragement and significance to the event. A total of 261 participants, including students, teaching staff and non-teaching staff availed themselves of the free eye check-up services. The camp was conducted under the guidance of NSS Programme Coordinators Dr. K. Rajendra Prasad and Smt. K. Gopika, who played a crucial role in planning and executing the event. A team of experienced ophthalmologists and medical staff from Sharath Max Vision Eye Hospital provided their services during the camp. The medical team included Dr. K. Anil (Senior Ophthalmologist), S. Ashok (Medical Staff), E. Raju (Medical Staff), and D. Kumaraswamy (Medical Staff). Their expertise and dedication ensured thorough examinations and quality healthcare services for all participants. The camp involved several key activities to ensure a comprehensive eye care experience. Participants were first registered and their basic medical histories were recorded. Vision acuity tests and comprehensive eye examinations were then conducted to identify potential vision issues. Those with identified problems received detailed consultations from the ophthalmologists. Additionally, an awareness session was held to educate participants on eye care practices, preventive measures and the importance of regular eye check-ups. The outcomes of the camp were significant. Several participants benefitted from the early detection of vision problems, allowing for timely intervention and treatment. The camp also succeeded in increasing awareness about eye health and the importance of routine eye examinations. Moreover, it fostered a stronger collaboration between Agricultural College, Warangal, and Sharath Max Vision Eye Hospital, paving the way for future healthcare initiatives. A family card was provided to participants to extend free vision screening benefits to their family members upto 15 days. Additionally, the pre-LASIK examination fee of Rs. 3000/- for LASIK treatment will be waived for participants.The NSS Unit of Agricultural College, Warangal, extends heartfelt gratitude to the management of Sharath Max Vision Eye Hospital for their support and to the dedicated medical team for their invaluable services. The camp concluded successfully, leaving a positive impact on the college community and reinforcing the importance of regular eye health check-ups.
