A training programme was conducted to the farmers on farm mechanization on 28.10.2020 at KVK, Wyra. Mechanization is the practice of introducing machinery to farmers to ensure sustainable agricultural production. It is an important input to agriculture for performing timely farm operations; reducing the cost of operation; maximizing the utilization efficiency of costly inputs (seeds, fertilizer, plant protection chemicals, water); improving the quality of produce; reducing drudgery in farm operations; improving the productivity of land & labour. Based on the importance and need for dependency on machinery in present day agriculture, a training programme was conducted to farmers and farm women to have an overview on machinery that can be used in agriculture. Dr. P. Sri Ranjitha, SMS (Agronomy) KVK, Wyra has explained about the present available machinery in various crops in performing different agricultural operations. Dr. K. Ravi Kumar, SMS (Entomology) has given the training on “Plant protection measures in Yasangi crops”. Dr. P. Sri Ranjitha, SMS (Agronomy) has given the training on “Crops and varieties for Yasangi season”. All the farmers have raised the problems encountered by them in different crops during their regular farming practice. All the necessary information on the management practices were well explained by the Scientists of KVK, Wyra. Later, visit to the KVK, Wyra Farm and information centre has been organized and explained about the demo units, technologies and other important practices.
