One day Training programme on “Farm Mechanization of Field Crops & Promotion of Integrated Farming System” was organized at Agricultural College, Jagtial on 29.10.2021 with the financial assistance from ICAR under SC-Sub Plan scheme 2020-2021. Dr. S. Narender Reddy, Associate Dean, Agricultural College, Jagtial inaugurated and addressed scheduled caste farmers about the importance of mechanisation emphasizing the scarcity of labour for timely agricultural operation. Dr. O. Sampth, Assistant Professor (Agronomy) & OISA advised the farmers to utilize the technical aspects delivered by the experts in the sessions. Further, in technical session Dr. K. B.Suneeth Devi, Senior Professor & Head (Agronomy) addressed the farmers about Integrated farming system scope importance and provided guidance to setup IFS unit. Er. G. Pragna, Assistant Professor (Agricultural Engineering) emphasised about the usage of farm implements in various crops for small scale farmers and provided information on availability of farm implements. Later, in the field visit demonstrated the working of various farm implements available at Agricultural College and RARS, Jagtail. Dr.N.Mahesh, Assistant Professor (Agronomy) organized exposure visit for farmers to the IFS Unit of a progressive farmer Palepu Ravi located at Gullapeta village whrere faremers were exposed to fish pond, poultry, goat rearing units and vegetable production under mulching. Kitchen garden kits and chicks were distributed to the farmers to encourage the farmers towards Integarted Farming system. Scheduled caste farmers from Gangaraopet, Thakelapally and Polasa villages were participated in the programme.
