On Farm Trial on application of fertilizer, based on soil fertility status at Adopted village by RARS, Polasa, Jagtial on 31-08-2020

Regional Agricultural Research station, Polasa, Jagtial conducted on farm trail on application of soil test based fertilizer recommendation in Paddy on 31.08.2020 at adopted village to cut down the excessive application of fertilizers , maintain soil fertility , prevent ground water contamination, avoid the pest and disease incidence in the field and reduce the cost of cultivation . The trial is being conducted in machine transplanted field of paddy where in the soil is tested , analyzed, calculated the requirement of fertilizer to be applied for the field and the soil health cards were distributed . Similarly 80 soil samples of farmers were collected from adopted village , analyzed and distributed soil health cards by recommending the amount of fertilizer needed for their crop and monitored the application of fertilizers . Dr. P. Ravi, Scientist (Soil Science) explained about the benefits of balanced application of fertilizer and recommended the fertilizer required for the crop based on soil fertility status by involving farmers of the village.
