Farmer – Scientist interaction meeting on Natural Farming & PM’s live webcast on 16-12-2021

Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Malyal organized Farmer – Scientist interaction meeting on Natural Farming and also arranged live webcast of the Honorable Prime Minister’s address on Natural Farming on the occasion of Pre-Vibrant Gujarat Summit, 2021. Subsequent to the live webcast, an interaction session was held under the chairmanship of Sri B. Chatru Naik, District Agricultural Officer, Mahabubabad. In his address, he opined that farmers should take up organic farming in at least part of their land holding. Sri M. Suryanarayana, District Horticulture & Sericulture Officer, Mahabubabad acted as guest of honor and informed the house about few successful organic farmers and insisted that participants should learn from their success stories. Farmers should visit fields of successful farmers and learn from their experiences. Dr. G. Anitha, Sr. Scientist (Ento.), AICRP on Bio-control, PJTSAU, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad explained non chemical methods of pest management which can be followed in natural farming. Later, Sri S. Jaipal Reddy from Tallapusapalli and Sri G. Damodhar Reddy from Kalvala shared their experiences in organic farming of Rice, Redgram and Turmeric crops. Dr. S. Malathi, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Malyal addressed the gathering, explained the concept of natural farming and crop management practices to be followed in natural farming. She reiterated that it is high time that farmers should use inputs judiciously so as to avoid harmful effects to environment. The occasion also utilized by a brief awareness talk on Kalgudi App by Kalgudi start up personnel Sri Sai Kumar, Customer Sales Executive. In this programme, KVK Scientists Dr. N. Kishore Kumar, SMS (Extn.), Dr. E. Rambabu, SMS (Hort.), 9 no.of departmental officials and 46 no.of farmers participated in the deliberations.
