Faculty and Students of Agriculture Polytechnic, Tornala conducted Farmer-Scientist-Student interaction programme on 25-10-2019 in Tornala, Appanapally, Bussapur and Marrikunta villages of Siddipet. Students collected socio-economic information of 300 farmers. Rice, Maize, Redgram, Cotton and Vegetables are majorly grown in the area. Excessive usage of fertilizer than the recommended doses is observed in almost all the crops, ultimately resulting in higher cost of production and lower net returns. Farmers were sensitized regarding the higher fertilizer use and the ill effects thereby during interaction. Dr. S. Sridevi, Principal, A. Sathish, Assistant Professor (Agronomy), M. Saicharan Assistant Professor (Entomology) along with 52 second year students of APT Tornala participated in this programme.
