The Programme Coordinator and Scientists of KVK Bellampalli, Mancherial has participated in the farmers Scientists interaction meeting which was organized by the Department of Agriculture and ATMA of Mancherial District on 24.11.2020. In this meeting discussions were made especially on doubling of the farmers income and income generation activities which can be taken up by the farmers. Dr. M. Rajeshwar Naik, Programme Coordinator, KVK Mancherial addressed the men and women farmers about the benefits of applying the fertilizers based on the soil test report and also explained about the adverse effects which are caused by indiscriminate usage of higher dosage of chemical inputs. He further explained about the different operations needs to be carried depending up on the weather based ago advisories and discussed about the nursery management of Paddy in Yasangi when there are low temperatures. To protect the paddy nurseries from the low temperatures, application of phosphorus should be doubled than usual. Spraying of 2g of Zinc Sulphate in nursery will result in the decrement of Zinc deficiency. Sri Vinod Kumar, DAO, Mancherial addressed the gathering about the importance of green manure during the rainy season and also explained about the crops which can be grown instead of paddy since paddy is a crop which requires excessive amount of water. Dr. I. Thirupathi, SMS (Crop Production) and Dr B. Sathish Kumar interacted with the farmers and explained about the importance of following and staying updated with the weather based agromet advisory services. This programme was attended by Sri Bapu, ADA, Mancherial, Sri Mark Gladston, MAO, Jaipur manda, Sri Sudhakar, AO technical, local public representatives along with 101 numbers of farmers were participated.
