Farmers Scientists Interaction Meeting Organised by KVK, Nizamabad (Rudrur) on 28-08-2021

KVK, Nizamabad along with PACS, Adlur Yellareddy and Department of Agriculture, Nizamabad organised farmer scientists interaction meeting at PACS, Adlur Yellareddy village, Sadasivanagar Mandal, Kamaredy District on 28.08.2021. Dr. S Naveen Kumar, Programme coordinator has created awareness on newly released varities in crops by the University and saline tolerant rice variety suitable for saline soils. Dr. B. Venkata Rajkumar, SMS, Horticulture explained about services rendered to farmers by KVK and PJTSAU through University YouTube channel and weather based crop advisories through IIDS-AKPS, voice and text messages and different social media platforms. Dr. M Suresh explained about importance of soil testing, nutrient management in Rice, Redgram, Maize crops with an emphasis on balanced fertilizer application and use of bio fertilizers in rice. Dr. Eeswar, Scientist RS&RRS, Rudrur explained the importance of drop irrigation and mechanisation in Sugarcane to minimize the cost of cultivation and reduce labour.Sri. Saicharan, Scientist, Entomology, RS&RRS, Rudrur explained integrated pest management practices in rice, maize, soybean and sugarcane crops. Total no. of participants: 95
