Field Day and Demonstration on HDPS in Cotton Organised by DAATTC, Warangal on 26-08-2021

DAATTC, Warangal has organized 37 demonstration of HDPS in cotton in Warangal Rural & Urban district as a part of technical programme and University flagship programme. DAATT Centre, Warangal in coordination with Nuziveedu Seeds Limited organized Field Demonstration and Field Day on 26.08.2021 at Elukurthy Haveli Village of Geesugonda mandal of Warangal Rural District in the field of Allam Ramulu. Dr B. Anil Kumar, Senior Scientist, DAATTC, Warangal invited the dignitaries on to the dias. About 100 farmers visited the HDPS in cotton field and appreciated good growth of plant and more number of bolls per plant. Nuziveedu cotton hybrid NCS 2778 and our University variety ADB-549 were sown. Farmer, Allam Ramulu explained the package of practices followed in his field. Chief guest, ADR, Dr. R. Uma Reddy explained the benefits of HDPS in cotton over traditional method of cotton cultivation and reiterated that HDPS in cotton will be the only way of cotton cultivation in the near future as machine picking is expected shortly in the days to come. Dr E. Narsaiah, Coordinator, DAATT Centre, Warangal explained the fertilizer recommendation in HDPS of cotton. He advised the farmers for split up application of fertilizers and avoidance of excessive application of fertilizer.Dr B. Anil Kumar, Senior Scientist, DAATTC, Warangal explained the farmers about the integrated sucking pest management. He emphasized the stem application technique in the initial stages of cotton. Dr B. Ram Prasad, Senior Scientist, RARS, Warangal explained in detail the package of practices of HDPS in cotton from sowing to last picking. He also discussed about the integrated pest management practices of pink bollworm. Hari Prasad, Mandal Agricultural Officer of Geesugonda mandal expressed thanks for demonstrating HDPS in cotton technology in his mandal and advocated the farmers for its implementation. Sri. Sarangam, representative of DAO, Warangal discussed about the role of Mepiquat Chloride, a growth regulator in HDPS of cotton. Jaipal Reddy, Surpanch of the village expressed gratitude and thankfulness for bringing awareness and conducting field day on HDPS in cotton. Area Managers of Nuziveedu Seeds Limited viz., Ramchander, Murali and Veerender and other field staff, Arun, Ramesh etc., as a part of Corporate Social Responsibility under Subeej Krishi Vigyan sponsored lunch and coordinated in making the programme successful. Dr E. Narsaiah, Coordinator concluded the meeting with vote of thanks.
