Field Day in Greengram (WGG-42) at Adopted Village ‘Gullapeta’ on 25-02-2022

Village Adoption team of Agricultural College, Jagtial has organized a ‘Field Day in Greengram (WGG-42)’ on 25.02.2022 at Gullapeta Village, Jagtial Rural (Mandal & District). In the programme Dr. N. Mahesh, Assistant Professor (Agronomy) briefed about the advanced package of practices and yield attributes of the WGG-42 variety of Greengram. He further explained about the strategies for seed production of Greengram at the village level. Dr. T. Sravan Kumar, Assistant Professor (Agricultural Extension) shared few cases of the farmers opting for value addition of pulses. He also encouraged the farmers for viewing the Youtube Channel of PJTSAU for updating their knowledge w.r.t the available technologies of University. Dr. B. Sowjanya, Assistant Professor (Agricultural Economics) has given the information on market availability and accessibility of pulses and encouraged the farmers to diversify the crop based on the seasonal conditions. At the end of the programme, farmers have expressed their thanks to the Agricultural College, Jagtial for supporting and guiding them. About 15 farmers actively participated in the field day programme.
