Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Adilabad organized Field day on “HDPS Cotton” under special project on Cotton, ICAR-CICR titled “Targeting technologies to agro-ecological zones-large scale demonstration of best practices to enhance cotton Productivity” under NFSM 2024 at Waghapur village of Mavala mandal of Adilabad district on 28-10-2024. The field day was conducted at the demo plot of farmer Sri. Chilkuri Dileep Reddy garu. In this Programme Dr. Y. Praveen Kumar, Programme Coordinator KVK, Adilabad explained about, ICAR-CICR Special Project on Cotton its significance and the advantage of High density planting system in aspects of accommodating more number of plants in the same land, the selection of early hybrids helps to go for second crop, which may ultimately impact in reducing the incidence of pink boll worm and also mentioned about the key aspect i.e. timely application of PGR. Dr. K. Rajashekar SMS (Plant Protection) explained about the IPDM practices and suggested the farmers to install traps to minimize PBW incidence by regular monitoring. The scientists resolved the queries of the farmers related to the High density planting system. Later the farmers who previously adopted this system shared their experience. In this programme Dr. Y. Praveen kumar (Programme Coordinator), Dr.K. Rajashekar SMS (Plant Protection), Mr. R. Dileep (YP II), E. Mallesh (YP I) and 50 farmers were participated.
